Allstar MVP opener has slow blinking red light

by Eric
(Pittsburgh, PA)

My Allstar MVP garage door opener is blinking a slow red light. According to the manual it means that there is a stuck relay. How do I know which one is stuck?

Can I replace them individually or do I need to purchase a new control board? Any suggestions on where I can get the parts? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

First, you have to determine whether the relay is NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed). Then you can use an ohmmeter or multimeter to determine whether it is stuck in another position.

Your Allstar dealer should have these in stock - they are not expensive. If your relays are all the same, you could simply replace each one, one at a time, to find the faulty relay.
