Craftsman garage door opener won't engage

I set up my Craftsman garage door opener and the trolley moves in the down position and then stops and never engages with the arm

The manual that came with your Craftsman garage door opener should show how the trolley connects to the arm. Are you missing one or more pieces?

Click this link, Sears Craftsman 53990 Owners Manual, to download one of Sears owners manuals. There are illustrations showing how they connect.

I read this article. I think You put a great deal of exertion to make this article. I like your work.

No wonder your site receives no traffic. You use outdated SEO techniques that Google now labels as link spam, lowering your rankings, so I have removed your link

Release is locked open
by: Doug Velting

It sounds to me like the emergency release is still unlocked. Grab the red release cord and pull it towards the door. You should hear and feel the lock tab slide up and now it should engage with the trolley.
