My unit would not work to close the door until I mounted the sensors about a foot or two apart. This forced the sensors to align. No more problems. If you have children, pets, or any other concern about the door hitting something; this option may not be for you.

It would be nice to disconnect the sensors
because if the door opener should last 10 years
it the sensors will use more electricity than
the price of the door opener at .11/KWH.
It seems everything built anymore has to beep,
chirp, honk ,or use electricity continuously.

If they both work and you just want them out of the way, you can tape them together so they are always seeing each other, and put the sensors (together like that) anywhere you like.

There is no way to bypass the sensors since this feature is built-in to the control board.
Even electronics experts need a circuitry diagram and these are simply not available.
