Garage Door Opener lights will not come on

My lights will not come on, I put new bulbs in and nothing happened; everything else works.

You could check to see if power is getting to the bulb sockets. Is it getting to the wire which connects to them?

If the wire is hot but the sockets don't work, they can be replaced.

If the wire is not hot, the least expensive solution would be to install a motion sensor light in the garage.

I have inspected the light sockets on my Raynor Aviator belt drive opener and find that they are a very cheap part that only has a little soft metal tab that contacts the bulb base. This soft tab will only maintain adequate contact for a few days at a time. If I unscrew the bulb a little or tighten it a little, it lasts a few days more. This is a very irritating feature of an otherwise nice unit. I would love to replace the sockets with new ones, but can't find any source for this part.

Ok, I have the same problem---except I have verified power to the sockets (simple 120V light tester) but when a bulb is screwed in we have no power to the socket or socket terminals. Could the resistance of the bulb be causing an incorrect protective function by the circuit, cutting power to the sockets? This is driving me nuts.
