Garage Door Opens but Won't Close

My genie remote opens my garage door but nothing happens when I try to close he door, the remote doesn't even have power to the drive. Any help would be appreciated You should be able to close the door by pressing and holding the wall control button until the door is fully closed. The most common cause for this problem is the safety sensors being out of alignment. The infrared beam from the sending unit must strike the lens of the receiver. The bracket should be twisted enough in the right direction for this to occur. Less common problems include pinched wire between safety sensors and motor, or bad sensors. Hope this helps, Donald
