garage door tries to close then opens back up

garage door tries to close then opens back up. I have disconnected the safety bar sensors at the opener but it still will not close. I have tried to jumper where the sensors where hooked up but the did not work either.

do you have any suggestions?

The sensors must be connected and properly aligned before the door will close. There is no way to bypass them. Hook them up again.

Will the door close completely when you press and hold the wall control button? If so, the problem is with the sensors; either the wiring, misalignment, or bad sensors.

The sending unit must direct its beam at the receiver sensor. If the infrared beam is not striking the receivers lens it must be adjusted to do so.

You may want to go back to the FAQ page and click a link near the top of the page which says "garage door opens but won't close".
