Garage Door Will Not Close

My garage door goes down about a foot than goes back up and the light starts flashing, there is nothing in the way and the beams are showing a green light.If I hold the button down it will go down all the way. Can you help me?

John, the problem is with the safety sensors. Most times they are simply not aligned properly. A small twist of the sending unit's bracket in the right direction will usually fix the problem.
