programming the multi code 4140

how do you get the multi code 4140 to recognize the receiver? Follow programming instructions. If this is a new remote the instructions should have come with it. Actually it is not difficult. This Multi-code remote uses dip-switch technology. The dip switches inside the cover of your remote must be set exactly the same as the row of tiny switches on the back side of your opener.
