remote opens but does not close door?

by Tom B
(St Paul, MN)

The remote control on model 3BTM-0372C opens the door, but when pressed to close the door the light bulb blinks and the door does not travel down.

The wall button must be pressed the entire time until the door is all the way down to close or it will reverse.

There doesn't seem to be anything blocking the safety sensor. What else can I try to resolve?

The safety sensors are probably not aligned properly. This is by far the most common occurrence. Twist the sending unit bracket until the beam points directly at the receiving sensor.

It is also possible there is a pinched or broken wire between the sensors and the motor assembly. Another possibility is the sensors have gone bad.
