Remotes not working Chamberlain 1/2 hp

Elec storm last night, now opener only works with remote. If I'm in open garage and shut the garage door I have to get right next to door for opener to work.

Always worked 40-50 ft before, changed batteries in remote - no difference. Do I have to change openers?????

Wall unit works normally.

It is unlikely you would have to change openers.

Do you have a surge suppressor installed in the circuit?

It is possible something on the control board was affected by the electrical storm.

First, check to be sure the antenna wire on the back of the opener is fully extended downward.

You may have to call a professional to make an on-site determination of the problem.
