Safety Eye Sensor Malfuntion

Why is the safety eye sensor not stopping the garage door from closing?

Its on; and the both of them are on; and green lights are on.

Does it just need to be replaced or fixed? Its a Craftsman 1/2 H.P.

Wow, this is a fairly rare problem. Whenever anything blocks the infrared beam the door should not close unless you press and hold the wall control button until the garage door is fully closed - this is normal.

If the door is closing for any other reason, you should have a technician check it for you. It may be the control board, but getting the right one is essential; not always the easiest thing with these units.
