The remotes will not open or close the garage door

The remotes, including the car remote, will not open or close the garage door - a LiftMaster 1/3HP unit. The door works with the wall button. When the remote is activated the main light does not come on and there is small blinking light at the back of the unit.
Is there a lock button feature on this unit and, if so, where is it located?

There is a lock button on the deluxe wall control. If yours is simply a push button there is no lock feature.
