Transmitter Mystery

My Garage door will only go down when working with the transmitter (old one or the new one). It will only respond with movement in the down direction. The motor only clicks when you try to get it to open.

It works in both directions with the button.
Can you tell me how to rectify this?

The garage door people want to come to my house.

I just spent money on the transmitter and suspect this is something simple but elusive. HELP!!!!!
